Needle-felted ‘painting’ class to be offered at FENCE Feb. 2

Back by popular demand, Foothills Equestrian Nature Center will offer a needle-felted painting class, led by fiber artist Irene Heckel, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2.
For this class, attendees will fiber paint their beloved pets using a photo as their guide.
The students will start with a pre-felt background and then use fibers to create colors by overlaying and blending colors to get shades. Each student will create their own “painting” to take home at the end of the class.
Heckel will assist students throughout the class with their artwork.
Students must provide a photo (headshot only) of the animal they wish to use for their needle felted painting to ensure that the appropriate colored fibers are available. Photos of cats, dogs or horses are preferred.
Photos can be provided via email or dropped off at FENCE, and should be size 8-by-10 inches, if possible, to ensure the best detail.
There is a fee associated with this class, which includes all supplies. Space for this class is limited, and pre-registration is required.
Those interested in learning more may call FENCE at 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org or visit fence.org.
FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon.
