Mildred Kathleen Phillips Tucker passed away on Dec. 14, 2018, at Laurel Woods Assisted Living in Columbus, North Carolina.

Kathleen was the wife of the late Charles H. Tucker and daughter of the late Luther and Pearl Adair Phillips.

She was a lifelong resident of Polk County and a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church.

Kathleen retired from Miliken-Hatch Plant after 54 years of employment.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Clyde, Ernest, Henry, Everette, Bob and Lewis Phillips; and one sister, Ethel P. Trotter.

Surviving are her daughters and son-in-laws, Charlene and Thomas Owens and Bonna and William Conner; one granddaughter, Caitlin Owens; one grandson, Ryan and wife Antonella Owens; and two great-granddaughters, Makenna and Lexi. Also surviving are a sister, Myrtle P. Smith; a brother, Van Glen Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen loved her family dearly and unconditionally, especially the grandchildren and great-granddaughters.  One of her greatest joys was hosting the annual Luther and Pearl Phillips family reunion for the last 40 years.

At Kathleen’s request, no services are planned. Her wish was that her family and friends remember her as she was at their last meeting.

The family wishes to thank the staff at LaurelWood Assisted Living and Hospice for the care, love and devotion for the last several months.

Memorials may be made to Pea Ridge Baptist Church Youth Fund, 8732 Highway 108 E., Mill Spring, NC 28756 or a charity of your choice.
