Polk receives tennis coach of the year, top player awards

Polk County head girls tennis coach Richard Davis has been named the Western Highlands Conference coach of the year, with senior Hannah Jenne receiving the league’s player of the year award.
Davis led the Wolverines to the WHC regular-season championship, going undefeated in conference play, and a 1A playoff berth.
Jenne won the conference singles championship, the 1A West regional title and reached the semifinals of the state 1A tournament.
Four other Wolverines — Julia Griffin, Tana Harris, Sara Muse and Virginia Rostick — each were named to the all-conference team.
