Under the watchful eyes of the town’s beloved mascot, Tryon Elementary students arrived in downtown Tryon Friday morning with handmade ornaments in hand, ready to decorate a large pine tree planted nearby Morris the horse. The children, assisted by their teachers and crews with the town of Tryon, placed their Christmas ornaments on the tree, getting it spruced up a week before the town hosts its annual Christmas Stroll, which will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. The local festivities will continue with the Tryon Christmas Parade, which is set to kick off at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. (Photos by Ted Yoakum/Tryon Daily Bulletin)
