Kenneth Nelson Haynes, 64 of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away Oct. 26, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kenneth was retired owner and operator of Silver Creek Campground in Mill Spring, a member of Bethany Baptist Church, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a volunteer fireman for East Nash, Wilson and Mill Spring fire departments. He loved boating and canoeing, and was an avid fisherman.
Kenneth was predeceased by his father, Junior Nelson Haynes; and stepfather, JB Boykin.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Shoupe Haynes of Forest City; mother, Jean Meadows Boykin of Wilson, North Carolina; a daughter, Lisa Marie Haynes of Charlotte; and a sister, Sue Phillips of Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Fox and the Rev. Paul Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends 2-3:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
