Upcoming dance class to support Thermal Belt Outreach

Published 8:00 am Thursday, September 27, 2018

Beginner and intermediate dance lessons are returning to Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry.

Attendees may learn swing, cha-cha, rumba, fox trot and waltz, taught by instructors Dave and Carlann Scherping. There is a fee for the lessons, with all money going to support Thermal Belt Outreach.

The classes are held on Tuesday evenings beginning Oct. 9  at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon in the parish hall. The one-hour class begins at 6:30 p.m., and is appropriate for beginner or intermediate dancers.

Each class will start with the basics, and then make it a little more interesting for more advanced dancers. The class will continue with one or two dances for the month with each week, building on the week before.

A new class with new dances will begin in November.

Students will celebrate their new moves with a dance party in early December. Classes will resume in January.

Organizers thank Holy Cross Episcopal Church for providing its parish hall to Outreach for the program.

Those interested in learning more may call Carlann and Dave at 828-894-3253 or email cscherping@gmail.com.
