In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 61 cases were heard. Some cases were dismissed, continued or sent to superior court.

The following people were convicted of a crime:

Kevin Brian Adams was convicted of obtaining property under false pretense. Adams was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Dwayne Dennis Forney was convicted of simple assault. Forney was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Marlon Shane Ruff was convicted of two counts of simple possession of a schedule II  controlled substance. Ruff was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
