Polk County Senior Center The Meeting Place will hold a fish fry fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday to benefit all seniors in Polk County.

Tryon’s WWQT radio will sponsor the entertainment for the event. The nationally known bluegrass group, The Principles, will perform. The group has nearly two dozen top 40 singles on the Southern Gospel charts.

All funds raised by this event will be used to enhance the programs and services offered to seniors in Polk County. With the support of donations, grants and fundraisers, The Meeting Place served over 24,000 meals to seniors last year.

Fundraisers and donations are crucial to the organization with the increasing senior population, and as the group continues to enhance its programs and services offered to the public, representatives said.

The meal will include fish, hush puppies, a baked potato, coleslaw, dessert and a drink. Participants can eat-in or take-out.
