Top dogs from Coon Dog

- Ten-month-old Iveryn Sheehan, daughter of John and Scarlett Sheehan, was named the Coon Dog Day Baby Princess.
With the 55th annual Saluda Coon Dog Day Festival — which took place July 7 — soundly in the books, organizers would like to recognize a few of the winners and prominent figures who participated in the event. (Submitted by Tangie Morgan)

The day was capped off with the annual Coon Dog Day Street Dance, which featured music coordinated by Johnny Perez. It drew one of the biggest crowds organizers had seen in years, they said.
The local Girl Scout Troop, led by Elizabeth Truman, was among the many participants in the annual parade down Main Street.
Spartanburg’s Hillbilly Shrine Club was named the Civic Group winner.
