TRYON — More than 100 riders and horses braved the July heat at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center last Saturday for the Foothills Riding Club Beat the Heat July Dressage show.

Show staff volunteer Sara Zordan said the tests started at intro A level and went through third level.
“We also had Western dressage,” Zordan said. “This is a chance for riders to get experience before the sanctioned shows.”
Zordan is one of approximately 20 volunteers who worked to organize the show. Show officials voted FRC member Pat Melton, who served as ring steward, to win the volunteer of the day award.
The show was open to all FRC members and the public.
FRC’s next show is scheduled for Sept. 8, also at FENCE, and will be dressage and a combined test.
