Going the distance

Jessica and Twila Cox, of Fort Worth, Texas, and natives of South Carolina, are a mother-daughter duo, who, along with their dog, Avalon (Ava), are currently hiking the Palmetto Trail, a mountain to sea trail across the state of South Carolina. They began their hike at Buck Hall Recreation Area with the Awendaw Passage. They have travelled along several passages, and most recently completed the Blue Wall and Poinsett Reservoir passages, which run along the state line near Tryon and Landrum. While hiking in the Landrum area, they went to the trailhead at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center and hiked into Landrum to the Brookwood Park trailhead in order to begin the hike up the Blue Wall above Lake Lanier.
