Saluda artist Jim Carson had his painting, “Another Gated Community,” accepted to the American Impressionist Society’s 19th annual National Juried Exhibition.
This year, the exhibition will be hosted by Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, and will be held Sept. 27 to Oct. 28.
According to the AIS announcement, over 1,500 paintings were submitted to the show, and 17 impressionist artists and their work were accepted.
This will be Carson’s fifth AIS National Exhibition. He was awarded AIS Signature Membership in 2015 with his third acceptance.
The American Impressionist Society was founded by four Florida artists “to promote the appreciation of Impressionism through exhibitions, workshops and other media,” and the society has developed into one of the most recognized art groups in America, representatives said. The exhibition is held every year at a different location, which has included some of the most prestigious galleries and museums in the nation.
