The Saluda Historic Depot Theatre Troupe will present “The Gin Game” at the Orchard Inn in Saluda.
The Pulitzer-prize winning two-person play, written by D.L. Coburn (1978), directed by Bill Jameson and starring Cappy Hall Rearick and Jack Milhaupt, will be held on three different evenings in August:
• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14
• 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15
• 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16; dinner will follow.
Fifty seats are available for each play. Dinner reservations for the Aug. 16 performance can be made by calling the Orchard Inn at 828-749-5471.
Tickets can be purchased at the Saluda Historic Depot, The Orchard Inn and from those involved in production. Tickets can also be purchased online at saludahistoricdepot.com.
Parental guidance advised (language) for the show.
The play will benefit the Saluda Historic Depot, a nonprofit dedicated to making the historic train station into a museum in order to highlight the history of the railroad, Saluda’s downtown, its people and the history of its natural resources.
The Saluda Historic Depot Theatre Troupe was formed to provide a forum for a variety of theatrical performances that reflect the creative spirit of the community, representatives said. The goal is to produce plays that will include those from legitimate theater, historic depictions of Saluda’s rich history and literary and poetic readings; all demonstrating local artistry and talent.
The Saluda Historic Depot will provide the setting for presentations suitable for its locale, and will partner with other venues for settings suitable for each production.
