Tryon Painters & Sculptors to open next exhibit Saturday

The Tryon Painters & Sculptors will host Warren Wilson College in its new gallery exhibit, along with several featured local member artists.

The show opens Saturday, and will feature the work of faculty and students of Warren Wilson College, along with local member artists Marybeth Trunk, Vivian Torrence, Barbara Thomas and Dian Magie. The evening will include a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., with light refreshments available.

Warren Wilson College’s art program aims to guide students as they explore the creative spirit and learn to develop a unique vision that will fuel future artistic expression. People may learn more about the program at warren-wilson.edu/programs/art.

Member artists Marybeth Trunk and Vivian Torrence have submitted works in 2D that combine skill, color and creativity. Fabric artist Barbara Thomas has created abstracts and objective pieces. Potter Dian Magie will also have wood-fired works.

The Warren Wilson College show will continue through Saturday, July 28, at the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Gallery, at 78 N. Trade St. in downtown Tryon. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
