Lanier Library seeking summer intern

The Lanier Library was recently granted a position for a student intern for the summer of 2018 from the Polk County Community Foundation. 

The student must be at least 16 years old at the start of the summer internship and plan to attend high school or a home school program in the fall. The student may not be a high school graduate.

Interns must have permanent residence in the area served by the Polk County Community Foundation (Polk County and Landrum zip code 29356). In addition, interns who have benefited from the Polk County Community Foundation’s internship program in past years may be hired as a foundation-funded intern only by a different organization.

Students will be expected to work 12 hours per week for at least eight weeks of the summer. The Lanier Library student intern will help with inventory at the library. 

The student will also help digitally archive the library’s historical documents.

Requirements for the position are a love of books and libraries, excellent computer skills, a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
