Tryon farmers market open for season

A splash of brilliant green herbs, crème-colored eggs and a variety of other shades of produce and crafts awaited visitors to Depot Plaza Thursday, as the Tryon Tailgate Market opened for the season that evening. Among the vendors setting up shop in the square that day included Herbalicious, Go Garlic, Noah’s Honey Farm, Rose’s Best Jams & Jellies, Wildkrafted Kitchens, Blessings Berry & Plant Farm, Mama’’s Little Dough Boy, Les Spangler Woodworking, Julie’s Woodland Creations and Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church. This week, several more growers and crafters are expected to participate, including Moss & Thistle Flower Farm, Foster Hill Farm, Bradley Farms, Once Upon a Cow Micro-Dairy, Linda’s Clayhouse, Rose Cottage and Tryon Mountain Lavender.
