High school civics teacher receives VFW’s Teacher of the Year award

The Bryant-Womack Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10349 and Auxiliary, Mill Spring, recently recognized and awarded Jennifer Wolfe as its Teacher of the Year.
Wolfe is a 17-year veteran teacher at Polk County High School.
She has taught civics for the past 14 years. Her curriculum includes flag etiquette, community service, volunteerism, patriotism and Americanism. She instills in her work with the scouts community, citizenship and traditions.
In addition to wining the post’s teacher award, Wolfe received the distinction at the District 16 level, which includes Mill Spring, Columbus, Hendersonville, Asheville, Mars Hill and Black Mountain.
Founded in 1899, the VFW supports the education of American’s youth. They have developed a slate of programs dedicated to helping America’s educators.
