Streamline the process

In the wake of the County Commissioners once again granting Tryon International Equestrian Center a free pass regarding zoning, housing density and building height variances, I would like to make some suggestions for the sake of efficiency.
First, let’s go ahead and officially change the name of the county to TIEC county. This will better reflect whose interests are being served by our commissioners.
Second, why don’t we make our tax payments directly to TIEC, as that is where it is going. And, it will make it easier for them to give themselves additional tax breaks.
I have thought about why the commissioners made this ruling when the vast majority of the comments in the public meeting were against it. I have concluded that they must have a crystal ball that allows them to determine that the worries about water supply, traffic, outrageous taxes and degradation of our way of life and terrain are unfounded.
That must be the case as I am sure our civic-minded commissioners would not harbor motives that are less than transparent or more lucrative.
