Eastside Church leaders mobilize

Thirteen pastors, lay ministers, and other church leaders from Eastside churches met recently at Roseland Community Center as part of the newly energized Eastside Renaissance. The group, convened by Joseph Fox, Roseland vice president, learned of issues and concerns facing Tryon’s Eastside community, including dilapidated housing, vacant and overgrown lots, needs of an increasingly elderly population, and other challenges related to municipal service delivery. The newly formed Eastside Pastors and Ministers Coalition agreed to meet regularly with community leaders to strategically address issues facing the Eastside. (Submitted by Dr. Warren Carson)
