Linda Jean Johnson, 65, of Tryon, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 in her home.
Born in Elizabeth County, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Marjorie Hood Sisk and the late John Sisk. She was the widow of J.B. Johnson. Linda enjoyed shopping, decorating, camping and boating with her family, and being outdoors, especially in “her yard.” Her greatest joy was making people laugh.
Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Toms River, New Jersey, and she attended Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren, Columbus, North Carolina.
In addition to her father and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Casey Johnson; and two sisters, Barbara Bakker and Marjorie Sisk.
Surviving are her mother, Marjorie Hood Sisk; two daughters, Cheri Cunningham (Douglas) and Cristi Johnson-Peele (Shan); a son, Christian “C.J.” Johnson; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Thompson; two sisters, Carol Huffman and Nancy Turner; a brother, Jack Sisk; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, in McFarland Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Craig Scruggs officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 5:45 p.m. prior to the service.
