Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT) at FENCE is kicking off 2018 with its Volunteer Training on Saturday, Feb. 17.

FENCE’s Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT) program changes and enriches lives by teaching horsemanship skills to adults and children with physical, cognitive, development and emotional challenges in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. We are extremely proud of the fact that TROT is a Premier Accredited Center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International.

If you are interested in learning more about TROT and becoming a volunteer, please contact Allison Rhyne at FENCE by calling 828-859-9021 or emailing at therapeuticriding@fence.org. The program continues to grow and we are looking forward to the spring and fall session in 2018 and will need to add to the dedicated volunteer group we have been depending on!

Volunteer orientation is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17 at the FENCE Center.  The training begins with a short video session followed by a discussion and then moves to the barn for “hands on” experience. The spring sessions for TROT will begin the week of March 5 and continue for 10 weeks. We are looking for volunteers who can be horse leaders or side walkers and perform other general service work to support the mission of TROT.
