Alfred Stott

Ronald Alfred Stott, 81, of Landrum, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2018. He was the son of the late Broadus Correll and Edna Mae McSwain Stott and husband of  Dorothy Ward Stott.

He was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and was retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was the last charter member of the Polk County Rescue Squad where he served for 57 years. In recent years, he was employed at Petty Funeral Home and cherished his time there.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stott; two sons, Nathan Stott (Cheryl) and Brian Stott (Sheri); a daughter, Cindy Pannell; his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Corbin, Kacin and Chandler Stott and Alex Everhart (Michael).

He was predeceased by three brothers, Russell, Wayne and Leon Stott and a sister, Doris Steadman.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Stewart, Rev. Gary Lockee and Rev. Hunter Park.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
