Editor’s Note: following is the agenda for the Monday, Jan. 22 Polk County Board of Commissioner meeting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice, located on the second floor of the Womack building in Columbus.
Call to Order of the Public Hearing on the Creation of a Polk County Golf Cart Ordinance – Chairman Johnson. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive citizen input on a Polk County Golf Cart Ordinance. The public hearing was properly advertised in the Tryon Daily Bulletin. Information is included in the packet under Agenda Item #15. County Attorney Berg will present the information.

- Ratification of purchase order authorization for 2 state contract Sheriff vehicles.

Revised Recreation Advisory Board Bylaw Review – To consider approval of the revised bylaws for this volunteer board. Jerry Stensland, Recreation Director, will be present the proposed changes for review.
Polk County Law Enforcement Facility – Paul Luzier, Moseley Architects, will present the construction update.
Resolution Declaring Surplus Real Property and Authorizing the Sale by Electronic Public Auction – Melissa Bowlin, Tax Administrator, will present the information and resolution. Motion to approve.
Polk County Golf Cart Ordinance – County Attorney Berg will present the proposed Golf Cart Ordinance for discussion and review subsequent to the public hearing.
An Ordinance Regulating Addressing and Road Naming or Re-naming in Polk County North Carolina – County Attorney Berg will present the proposed ordinance for discussion and review.
Manager’s Report – 1) Looking Glass Creamery waterline extension construction. 2) Update on meetings with Lexington officials.
Volunteer Boards for Vote – Board of Adjustment, regular member, 1 application, 2 vacancies; alternate member, 1 application, 1 vacancy.
Volunteer Boards for Review – Columbus Fire Tax Commissioner, 3 applications, 3
vacancies; Polk County Planning Board 2 applications, 4 vacancies.
