Overholt to take part in Border Bowl All-Star Game

Polk County senior Dillon Overholt will take part in the Food City Border Bowl All-Star games, set for Saturday in Sevierville, Tenn.
The Border Bowl all-star games feature players from Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. North Carolina will meet Georgia on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., with Kentucky and Tennessee to battle at 3:30 p.m.
Both games will be held at Sevier County High School in Sevierville. The games will also be broadcast on ESPN3.
Players reported Wednesday to begin practice sessions at Rocky Top Sports World Complex in nearby Gatlinburg. The teams practiced Wednesday night, with three practices planned Thursday and two more on Friday.
Thomas Langford is serving as the head coach for the North Carolina team.
An All-Western North Carolina selection as well as the Western Highlands Conference Athlete of the Year in football, Overholt recorded 88 tackles this season, intercepting two passes, as Polk County’s free safety. He started nine games at quarterback for the Wolverines before shifting to wide receiver. He finished as Polk County’s second-leading rusher with 805 yards and seven touchdowns, passed for 629 yards and 11 touchdowns, caught 13 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns and also had a punt return for a score.
