Landrum’s December 7 Christmas Parade starts at
6 p.m. an hour later than past years.
Landrum business woman and community volunteer Linda Fitzgerald-Howard, the Landrum Lions Club Grand Marshal, will ride in the lead car. Santa Claus riding on a firetruck will end the parade, then return to the new Santa house on N. Trade until 8 pm.
The route, which starts at The Depot turns right on E. Rutherford, then turns right at O. P. Earle Elementary School and disbands at Landrum Middle School.
As the parade passes, the stroll begins in the downtown area and concludes at 8 pm.
Here’s what to expect at the stroll.
• 6,000 new white lights in trees and 200 luminosity candles on E. Rutherford
• 22 businesses and restaurants open with holiday decorations, merchandise and food
• 6 food vendors on N. Trade: A hot chocolate bar at The Collective, Big Iron BBQ, Those Pickle Ladies, Bojangles, Fire Department Explorer Troop, Thomas Shaved Ice.
• 4 musical groups: Overmountain Music in the Collective, The Well Music Group on Southern Delights, Mike Johnson at El Chili Rojo and the Make Shift Band on the Foothills Amish Furniture Deck.
• Other special activities: Realta School of Irish Dance performance at 6:30 pm in front of the Santa House on N. Trade, face painting inside Sissy on E. Rutherford and a special shopping vendor area at The Depot by the O.P. Earle Elementary School PTO.
The parade and stroll, planned by the Landrum Fire and Rescue District and the Landrum Community Events Team, is also sponsored by the City of Landrum and the Landrum Area Business Association.

Children in the Landrum area will have three chances to visit with Santa starting on Thursday after the parade when he will welcome them to the new Santa House, located on N. Trade near the Hare and The Hound.
Parents are welcome to take photos until 8 p.m.
On Friday night, between 5 and 7 pm, he will greet children at The Collective on N. Trade.
Once again, children can find him in the Santa House on Saturday from 11 a. m. until l p.m. Photos welcomed.
Dutch Boy Buildings of Gramling is sponsoring the Santa House for the town.
103.3 live broadcast planned
in Landrum on December 7
Earth FM radio host Craig Debolt will air his 103.3 afternoon drive show live from Landrum on Thursday, December 7.
The broadcast, from 3 to 7 pm, will take place on the Foothills Amish Furniture Deck or, in the event of cold weather, Southern Delights. Debolt will interview local business owners as well as providing details about the parade and stroll.
Other special activities: Operation Hope and Landrum First Baptist Church – hot dog supper, drinks and hot chocolate starting at 5 pm at the church, Realta School of Irish Dance performance at 6:30 pm in front of the Santa House on N. Trade, face painting inside Sissy on E. Rutherford and a special shopping vendor area at The Depot by the O.P. Earle Elementary School PTO.

Note: The Santa House should arrive on December 4; volunteers will be decorating that day.
