Parking was at a premium and store owners reported a steady stream of customers shopping local for Black Friday. PJ’s Fashions owner PJ Steinman said they had several customers standing in front of the store when they opened Friday morning.
Judy Ward of Saluda’s Historic Thompson Store said it was steady all day. In downtown Saluda, cars filled the over-flow parking on the other side of the railroad tracks as shoppers strolled up and down the sidewalks.
“I’m not sure how many customers we had this morning,” Paige Horton who works at Charming Grooming in Landrum. “It was a ton of people coming in to buy gifts and do toys.”
