Polk County District Court results

In Polk County District Court on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, with Judge Mack Brittain presiding, 106 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Freddie Lee Bates Jr. was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Bates was fined $50 and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 105 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Felicia Ann Armstrong was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Armstrong was fined $40 and court costs.

Justus Ian Burnett was convicted of speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone and failure to appear on misdemeanor. Burnett was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $20 fine and court costs.

Randy Clinton Camp Jr. was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Camp was fined $40 and court costs.

John Charles Causey was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Causey was fined $50.

Roger Austin Conner was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Conner was fined $40 and court costs.

Patricia L. Doggett was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Doggett was fined $40 and court costs.

Charles Joseph Falk was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Falk was to pay court costs.

Kelly Ward Hill was convicted of allow unlicensed minor to drive. Hill was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.

Margot Day Karolewicz was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Karolewicz was fined $40 and court costs.

Morelos Jesus Lopez was convicted of level five driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lopez was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, $150 in fines and court costs.

Timothy Ohara Martin was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Martin was fined $50 and court costs.

Andrew Carro McKelvey was convicted of breaking and or entering. McKelvey was sentenced to 7-18 months in the N.C. Department of Corrections.

Kevin Michael Pusz was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Pusz was fined $92 and court costs.

Matthew Lee Sharpton was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Sharpton was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Robert Lewis Simpson was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Simpso was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.

Alexander B. Smith was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Smith was fined $50 and court costs.

Robert Earl Williamson was convicted of two counts of breaking and or entering and injury to personal property. Williamson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, $200 in restitution and court costs.
