Polk’s Jenne, Harris finish third in 1A West Regional doubles

Polk County’s doubles team of Hannah Jenne and Tana Harris placed third Saturday in the 1A West Regional in Elkin.

The Wolverine pair opened the day with a 7-6, 6-4 loss to East Surry’s Haley Jennelle and Sarah Mann, the eventual regional champions, in the semifinals. A pair of close calls in the first-set tiebreaker that went against Jenne and Harris proved key, said head coach Richard Davis.

Jenne and Harris returned to the court later in the day and earned a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over a duo from Bishop McGuiness in the third-place match.
