During a special meeting on Oct. 9, Tryon Town Council unanimously approved the Dallara Project at Harmon Field. The Harmon Field Board of Supervisors also approved the project in October. Plans are for field upgrades and a statue to be placed in honor of the late Harry Dallara, who frequented Harmon Field.

Tryon gives tornado update

During the Town of Tryon’s Oct. 17 meeting, town manager Zach Ollis gave an update of the EF1 tornado that hit Tryon and Lake Lanier on Oct. 8. Ollis thanked employees from Tryon and the county who worked tirelessly to clean up the trees and debris and check on residents. Ollis said it looks like employees will still be working on cleaning up until Thanksgiving.

Tryon approves closing Trade Street for Halloween Stroll

The Town of Tryon’s Halloween Stroll will be held downtown on Oct. 31 and the town council agreed on Oct. 17 to close Trade Street for the event. Trade Street will be closed between Oak and Palmer Streets from 4-8 p.m.
