Landrum did plenty of things right in the Cardinals’ football opener at Blue Ridge (in Greer) on Friday, Aug. 25, but, in the end, Blue Ridge’s Fighting Tigers emerged with a 41-19 win.
Landrum’s three touchdowns came on quarterback Michael Clark’s pass to Dalton Kuykendall, Clark’s 36-yard scoring run, and Clark’s one-yard keeper. After Blue Ridge scored 28 first-quarter points, the Cardinals limited their hosts to a mere 13 points.
On what he found particular favor with, Cardinal head coach Jason Farmer replied, “Our effort. We continue to get better from the first quarter to the fourth. We just have to put Blue Ridge behind us, and get ready for Broome.”
This Friday, Sept. 1, the Cardinals host 2-0 Broome. Game time is 7:30.
