Participants in the annual Pacolet Junior Appalachian Musicians (PacJAM) Summer Camp at TFAC listen as Dean Stuart Campbell spins a few tales of life in the Foothills. A masterful storyteller and the “Squire of Dark Corner” Campbell is one of the expert instructors working with local students during the week-long summer camp. PacJAM campers are also learning Appalachian dance and traditional fiddle, banjo, guitar, or mandolin music. Summer camp culminates with a free, public concert and potluck lunch at TFAC on Friday, July 21 beginning at noon. No tickets are required for the concert. Details are available at tryonarts.org or 828-859-8322. (photo submitted by Michelle Fleming)
