The current restrooms in the public area of the building are not open to the public.

City administrator Rich Caplan said the city will lease and renovate those restrooms for the public instead of building a separate public restroom facility. The city has discussed the need for public restrooms for many years.

The renovations will include making the restrooms handicap accessible, including handrails and a handicap sized sink, according to Caplan. Caplan said plans are for the renovations to be complete in the next couple of months, by the end of summer.

Council included in the lease agreement that if the lease is ever broken, the city will be reimbursed for the renovations to the restrooms.
