Polk arrests man for drug possession off Scriven Road in Tryon

TRYON – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office PACE (Polk Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) Team arrested two persons from South Carolina last week after discovering several types of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, hydrocodone and Adderall.
The PACE Team encountered a suspicious vehicle off Scriven Road in Tryon on June 7 with the female arrested on an outstanding warrant and the male arrested on drug charges.
Scotty James Price, 48, of Goforth Rd., Landrum, S.C. was arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, one count of felony possession of cocaine, conspiracy to sell methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance, according to sheriff’s office reports.
Melissa Mason, 43, of Campobello, S.C. was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to sheriff’ office reports.
Price was released from jail after posting a $51,000 bond.
Mason was still in custody as of Monday, June 12 pending a $500 bond.
