Junkscape or Godscape? You decide.

There currently is a national campaign to “Make America Great Again.” I would like to propose a campaign to “Make Polk County Beautiful Again.”
Every day I travel past homes with abandoned vehicles, old tires, discarded appliances plus an accumulation of unsightly front yard junk. This self-made junkscape is perplexing since we all live in the wonder of natural surroundings I call Godscape.
If the TIEC visitors coming to the 2018 World Equestrian Games had to pass by these junk eyesores there would already be a front yard junk ordinance. So my challenge to all readers is to contact our county commissioners, let them know we need a strong and enforceable front yard junk ordinance that will “Make All of Polk County Beautiful Again.”
