POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT RESULTS
In Polk County District Court on Monday, March 27, 2017, with Judge David K. Fox presiding, 68 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Leah McKee Barnes was convicted of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance. Barnes was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Alice Darlene Swihart was convicted of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Swihart was sentenced to 72 hours in jail with credit for time served.
In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 166 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Joel Avellaneda was convicted of speeding 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. Avellaneda was fined $100 and court costs.
Morgan Rae Banther was convicted of speeding 30 mph in a 25 mph zone. Banther was fined $30 and court costs.
Darin Andrew Bovee was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Bovee was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for time served.
Montgomery G. Burnett was convicted of failure to wear seat belt-driver. Burnett was fined $25 and court costs.
William Chase Case was convicted of two counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Case was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.
Ashley Daniell Cobb was convicted of level two driving while impaired. Cobb was sentenced to two years supervised probation, seven days in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
Christopher H. Greene was convicted of fictitious information to officer and carrying a concealed weapon. Greene was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.
Michelle L. Hawkins was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Hawkins was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Jason Michael Jackson was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson was sentenced to two years supervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Harry Truman Kelly was convicted of two counts of failure to notify DMV of address change. Kelly was fined $50 and court costs.
Brandon Lance Latimer was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Latimer was fined $30 and court costs.
Martha Jones Metcalf was convicted of speeding 34 mph in a 25 mph zone. Metcalf was fined $30 and court costs.
Henry Aaron Pruitt was convicted of probation violation. Pruitt’s probation was revoked with credit for 13 days.
Hertha Sabina Puryear was convicted of speeding 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. Puryear was fined $50 and court costs.
Deydi Maydi Roblero was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Roblero was fined $100 and court costs.
Robert Louis Sheppard was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation out of county. Sheppard’s probation was terminated successfully.
Dana Fernando Smith was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Smith was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Jessica Renee Umlauf was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Umlauf was fined $40 and court costs.
POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT
During the month of March 2017, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office answered 584 calls for service.
There were 12 felony arrests, 42 misdemeanor arrests and 33 citations issued.
Officers completed 1,129 house checks, 2,922 business checks, 1,648 church checks, served 86 civil papers, 53 criminal papers, assisted the public 10 times and patrolled 26,802 miles.
The Polk County Jail booked a total of 84 inmates, including 13 females ad 71 males.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY ARREST REPORT
March 30
Randy Littlejohn, 41, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a probation violation. Littlejohn was later released.
Courtney Mace, 20, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a Spartanburg Magistrate Court sentence. Mace’s bond is set at $500.
March 31
Jennifer Pittman, 30, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a family court offense.
April 1
Johnny Beheler, 27, from Landrum was arrested and charged with DUS first offense. Beheler was later released.
