POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT
In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 82 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
William Travis Campbell was convicted of speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone. Campbell was fined $90 and court costs.
Anna Victoria Cobb was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Cobb was sentenced to one day in jail, one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Tara Cassandra Dalton was convicted of three counts of failure to appear. Dalton was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $150 fine and court costs.
Michael Parker Hean was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Hean was fined $40 and court costs.
Charles A. Ledbetter was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Ledbetter was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Jun Ho Lee was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Lee was to pay court costs.
Addison Hunter Shealy was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Shealy was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
LANDRUM AREA FIRE & RESCUE DISTRICT
In February, the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District responded to 38 calls including:
4 auto accidents
3 fire/smoke alarms
6 medical calls,
9 other
2 business structure fires
1 outside building structure fires
3 residential fires
9 trash/woods/grass fires
1 tree

LANDRUM POLICE DEPARTMENT
For February, the Landrum Police report is as follows:
TRAFFIC:
There were 39 incidents including: one disregarding a stop sign, one driving left of center, seven driving under suspension, three expired tag, one failure to exercise due care, six no driver’s licenses, one no proof of insurance, three seatbelt violations, 15 speeding and one violation of beginner’s permit. There were four arrests including: three driving under suspension and one no driver’s license.
CRIMINAL:
There were 33 incidents including: one cruelty to children, one second degree domestic violence, one false information to a police officer, one harassment, one loitering, one misuse of telephone, three open container, 10 possession of drug paraphernalia, one possession of schedule III drugs, two possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one possession with intent to distribute schedule II, IV drugs, two public disorderly conduct, one resisting arrest, six simple possession of marijuana and two trespass after notice.
There were 23 arrests including: one cruelty to children, one second degree domestic violence, one harassment, one misuse of telephone, five possession of drug paraphernalia, one possession of schedule III drugs, two possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one possession with intent to distribute schedule II, IV drugs, two public disorderly conduct, one resisting arrest, six possession of marijuana and one trespassing after notice.
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION:
There were 11 criminal investigations including: one burglary, three petty larceny, one rape, two simple assault, one theft from motor vehicle, one unlawful communication, one unlawful conduct toward a child and one vandalism.
ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES:
There were three accident reports, three funeral escorts, 16 warning citations, four arrest warrants served and six bench warrants served.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT.
March 5
Jeffery McEntire, 55, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a drug offense. McEntire was later released.
March 6
Dennis Lockhart, 44, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a family court sentence. Lockhart was later released.
March 8
Justin Morris, 33, from Landrum was arrested and charged with DUS for DUI (first offense) and possession of meth/cocaine. Morris was later released.
March 9
Tammy Page, 45, from Landrum was arrested and charged with two family court offenses. Page’s bond is set at $4,574.
SALUDA POLICE DEPARTMENT
During the month of February 2017, the Saluda Police Department answered 101 calls for service.
There were seven arrests, 44 state citations issued, seven city citations issued, 15 warning tickets, three accidents, one larceny, 10 welfare checks, seven alarms, six open doors, 19 suspicious person/vehicle calls, two property damage and one vandalism.
Saluda was involved in two license checks with Columbus Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s office and patrolled 4,854 miles.
