Frank Weaver was once one of the wealthiest residents of early Polk County and the manufacturer of “Weaver’s Whiskey” in the mid 19th century. He, along with his son and other Polk men, were shot execution style on Dec. 30, 1864 on Houston Road outside of Columbus by the Confederate Home Guard.
