Roy Lee Pack

Roy Lee Pack, 92, of Mill Spring, N.C. passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 in White Oak Manor of Tryon.

A native of Polk County, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Melton Pack and husband of the late Lena Pressley Pack who died in 2009. Mr. Pack was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Polk County and worked many years for Ted Pack Logging. Mr. Pack was a member of the VFW Post #10349 in Mill Spring. He was a member of Mill Spring First Baptist Church. Mr. Pack was the last surviving member of his family.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Price (Roger Blackwell) of Boiling Springs, S.C. and Michelle Pack of Tryon; one step-daughter, Opal Stines (Danny) of Rutherfordton, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Shawnda, Benjamin, Quinton, Addison, Hayden, Daphne, Stephanie and Chris; nine great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Katlyn, Kourtney, Kendall, Karson, Kirsten, Kaiden, Taylor and Drew; three great-great grandchildren, Chloe, Carter and Brayden.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Mill Spring First Baptist Church with Rev. David Bame and Rev. Jacob Williams officiating with military honors by the Polk County Memorial Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
