“Stay active…Take care of your body…Get a good education…”
Those were some of the words of wisdom spoken by residents of Tryon Estates to members of Polk County High School’s football team as players and coaches visited on Tuesday.
Taking a break from practice while awaiting the start of the state 2A playoffs this week, team members and coaches spent the afternoon at Tryon Estates involved in a variety of activities with residents, playing bingo, taking part in exercise games and visiting in small groups and one-on-one.
Polk County head coach Jamie Thompson thanked assistant coach Will Pack and Tryon Estates’ Susan Bowman and Steve Hardin for coordinating the visit.
“Both the team and the residents had a great time,” Thompson said.
The group went on a tour of the facility after the activities.
