In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 95 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Ivette Jennifer Chavez was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Chavez was fined $40 and court costs.
Keith Joseph Decurtis was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Decurtis was fined $50 and court costs.
Krystal Marie Haney was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Haney was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for time served.
Nathan Bruce Jackson was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Jackson was fined $40 and court costs.
Steven Dewayne Long was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Long was to pay court costs.
Paul Fredrick Murphree was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Murphree was fined $30 and court costs.
Avery Jonathan Parker was convicted of resisting public officer. Parker was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for time served.
Elizabeth B. Rowlette was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Rowlette was fined $50 and court costs.
Maribel Santibanez was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Santibanez was to pay court costs.
Lisa Ann Sullivan was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Sullivan was fined $40 and court costs.
