Polk County District Court results for Sept. 14

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 102 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Dillon Reno Alexander was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Alexander was fined $40.
Phillip Wayne Ellis was convicted of simple possession of schedule III controlled substance. Ellis was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.
Andrea Wood Elmore was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Elmore was fined $96 and court costs.
James Tyler Fleetwood was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Fleetwood was fined $40.
Katherine Grace Harker was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Harker was fined $75 and court costs.
Kristen Olivia Knarr was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Knarr was fined $40.
Taylor Nicole Martines was convicted of speeding 59 mph in a 50 mph zone. Martines was fined $30 and court costs.
Russell Gene McDowell was convicted of level five driving while impaired. McDowell was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Angela Marie Morrow was convicted of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance. Morrow was fined $50 and court costs.
Steven Nigel Neal was convicted of unauthorized use of motor vehicle. Neal was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit.
Ali Nilforushan was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Nilforushan was fined $92 and court costs.
Julian Rojas Ortiz was convicted of level two driving while impaired. Ortiz was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit, 24 months supervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.
David Franklin Pierce was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Pierce was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours in jail with credit, a $100 fine and court costs.
Ricky Dean Shehan was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Shehan was sentenced to seven days in jail, 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.
Sarah Aveiona Shields was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Shields was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Aubrey Rontavi Thomas was convicted of designated lane violation. Thomas was fined $40.
Scott David Weidman was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Weidman was fined $40.
