Landrum netters take three straight from Christ Church

Back to .500 (9-9) overall, and one up (2-1) in the region was Landrum’s volleyball record, after the Cardinals held off a determined Christ Church Episcopal team, 25-15, 25-14, and 25-16, at Landrum on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

In game one, Landrum opened leads of 8-5, 12-7 and 22-12 before Nicole Ford’s kill put the Cardinals two points away from the win, at 23-12.

 Game two’s outcome was never in jeopardy for the Cardinals, who built leads of 6-1, 12-2 and 23-12.

 In pre-match practice, the Cardinals’ constant and solid spikes seemed to unnerve the Cavaliers.

Results from Landrum’s match against Greer Middle College on Sept. 22 were not available at press time. 

The Cardinals continue region play at Blacksburg on Sept. 27, and host Polk County in a rivalry match on Sept. 28.
