Landrum Police Dept. August report

The following report covers Landrum Police Department activities during the month of August 2016 as presented by Landrum Police Chief Tim Edgens at the city council meeting held Sept. 13, 2016.

TRAFFIC

A total of 28 incidents were reported in this category. They include one failure to register a vehicle, one failure to surrender suspended tag, one for driving on the wrong side of the road, six DUS, one expired tag, one for no driver’s license, three for operating an uninsured vehicle, 10 speeding, one reckless driving and three improper tag incidents. Three arrests were made including one for failure to surrender suspended tag and two for DUS.

CRIMINAL

A total of 10 incidents were reported in this category, each with an accompanying arrest. They include one for the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one for breach of trust, two for petty larceny, one for public disorderly conduct, one for possession of drug paraphernalia, two for simple possession of marijuana, one for trespass after notice and one for criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS

A total of 14 investigations were carried out, including: two burglary/breaking and entering, two theft from a motor vehicle, one impersonation, two petty larceny, one vandalism, one death investigation, one grand larceny, one missing person, one child abuse, one assault and battery and one obscene/harassing phone call.

ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

Eight accident reports, two funeral escorts and 16 warning citations were executed in this category.

WARRANT SERVICE

Three bench warrants and two arrest warrants were executed for a total of five warrants served.
