Isaias Akers scored two goals and added two assists Monday as Polk County earned its first boys soccer win of the season, topping East Lincoln 4-0 in Denver.
Akers scored twice in the second half as Polk County (1-2) turned a 1-0 halftime lead into an easy win.
The Wolverines grabbed that advantage at intermission thanks to Luis Hernandez, who scored on a feed from Akers and Carson Marshall 12 minutes into the first half.
Akers upped the lead to 2-0 in the second half on an assist from Alex Pearson, then scored again off a throw-in by Marshall to make it a 3-0 game. Pearson then concluded the scoring off a pass from Akers in the 61st minute.
Wilson Edwards had five saves for Polk County, which hosts Brevard in a non-conference match on Wednesday
