Tryon’s fourth annual Summer Theater Camp will present a free performance at Tryon Fine Arts Center on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m.
For four years, the Tryon Fine Arts Center and Tryon Little Theatre have teamed up to host Summer Theater Camp. Twenty students between the ages of 8 and 12 are participating in the camp from July 25 – 30. In only one week, the students will work to prepare and produce a full-scale production of the 20 minute, family-friendly show, “Charm School.”
The show will be directed by TFAC’s Executive Director Marianne Carruth and produced by TLT’s Jody McPherson. Lindsey Moore will work with the students to create and build the set. Costumes will be made by staff and students.
“This is the fourth year for theater camp,” said McPherson. “It is a full week of creativity and fun and it is amazing what can happen in a week. Come and see our show on Saturday morning. You will be surprised.”
Monday through Thursday, the students will rehearse at Sunnydale. Friday, the students will have a technical and dress rehearsal at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. On Saturday, July 30, they will perform their production at 10 a.m. for the public. Admission is free.
