John O. Shytle

John Otis “Johnny” Shytle, 80, of Green Creek, N.C. passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016.
Johnny was born in Green Creek on January 12, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of Green Creek.
He was the son of the late Vailon Lynell and Louvenia Jones Shytle and husband of Gloria “Jody” Campbell Shytle.
He was the owner of Shytle’s Used Cars for 60 years. He was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church, was a Mason, a Shriner and a Gideon.
Johnny is survived by his wife Gloria “Jody” Shytle; his daughter, Kim Shytle McFarland (Billy); three granddaughters, Kate McFarland Sap (Daniel), Belle McFarland Tabas (Matt) and Brett Auston McFarland; and a great granddaughter, Ella LinLy Sap.
He is also survived by his brother in law, Jennings Prince; a nephew Jay Prince; three nieces, Joni Prince Wright, Beth Shytle Lynch and Lori Shytle Price.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, John Mayberry and Lula Belle Ross Shytle and Otis and Ella Giles Jones; a sister, JoAnn Shytle Prince; a brother, Larry Dean Shytle, Sr. and a nephew, Larry Dean Shytle, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Green Creek First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Don McIntyre, Rev. Allen McKinney and Rev. Jim Hooper. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial at the church.
