Tryon Summer Youth Theater is offering a special price for local residents to attend Friday and Saturday evening productions of The Little Mermaid. Thanks to generous support from the Polk County Community Foundation and an anonymous donor, a limited number of discounted student and adult tickets are available to Polk County and Landrum, S.C. residents on July 15 and 16.

To receive the discount, the code “big” must be entered when purchasing adult tickets and the code “little” must be used to purchase student tickets for ages 18 and under.

The Tryon Summer Youth Theater production has been a beloved summer tradition for over 40 years. This year Tryon Fine Arts Center and Tryon Little Theater are partnering to present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Directed by Chris Tinkler, the production stars over 30 local youth ages 11-18, and runs July 14-17. There is a special preview gala on July 13, with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cast meet and greet.

The special locals’ price is only valid for the July 15 and 16 performances, at 8 p.m. at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased online at the Tryon Little Theater or Tryon Fine Arts Center websites, or at either box office.

The code “big” for adults and “little” for students must be provided at time of ticket purchase for online, phone, and in person purchases. Quantities are limited, so advanced reservations are strongly encouraged.
