PCHS state champion relay team recognized Monday evening

The Polk County High School 4×800-meter relay team has taken home state championship rings for the second year in a row. Mitchell Brown, Jacob Wolfe, Jeremy Allsbrook and Sean Doyle received their certificates and rings at the Polk County School Board meeting at Stearns in Columbus June 13. Polk County posted a time of 8:33.49 to win the race at February’s meet in Winston-Salem, N.C. at this year’s 2A/1A indoor championships. (Photo by Michael O’Hearn)
