Alfred Sellers

William Alfred “Al” Franklin Sellers, Jr., 81, of Columbus, N.C., died Saturday, May 21, 2016 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born in Swainsboro, Ga., he was the son of the late William Alfred Franklin Sellers, Sr. and Frances Riner Sellers. Al loved his family, as well as fishing. He was an avid Nascar fan. Al loved his job as a truck broker. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Betty Rae Sellers; three daughters, Debbie Mathis (Wayne) of Sumter, S.C., Sharon Kissiah (Malcolm) of Hartsville, S.C., and Barbara Culbreth (Steve) of Eastover, N.C.; two sons, Allen Ray Sellers of Columbus, N.C., and Trey Sellers of Columbus, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a son in law, Jake Boykin; a sister in law, Pat Bunch of Columbus, N.C. Al was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Boykin.

The family would like to thank the Rankin Family of Yemassee, S.C. for all of their support and love for Al.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Midway Baptist Church with Rev. William Swink and Rev. Peter McDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
