Polk earns tennis win over Avery County

Last Tuesday, March 22, singles wins by Tyler Oxtoby, Henry Monts, Rustin Muse and Malik Miller, plus doubles victories by Oxtoby/Monts, Payton Stott/Alec Becker, and Muse/Miller gave the Wolverines a 7-2 tennis win over Avery at Columbus, and kept the Wolverines undefeated in the Western Highlands Conference, at 2-0.
Results of the scheduled match between Polk and Owen on March 24 will be reported later.
Yesterday (Monday, March 28), Polk played a non-conference match at Kings Mountain. Results were not available at press time. At 3:30 this afternoon, the Wolverines host WHC rival Mountain Heritage. On Thursday, March 31, Polk hosts Kings Mountain. On April 4, the Wolverines visit T.C. Roberson.
